Willie Young

Willie Young, 66 of West Memphis, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born on December 5, 1950 in Turkey, Texas the son of the late Marshall and Violet Brumley Young. Mr. Young was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in West Memphis. He worked eight years in Nashville, Arkansas for Smith Ready Mix and ARCO Materials. His interests were cooking, fishing, collector, and working outside as long as his health permitted. Family was most important to him. He loved cooking Sunday dinner for his family until his health no longer permitted. He was preceded in death by a daughter Donna Kay Young, parents Marshall and Violet Brumley Young, two sisters Kathy Cowling and Maedonie Ray. Survivors include his wife of forty-five years Barbara Myrick Young of West Memphis, AR; one son David Young and wife Lisa of Marion, AR; one granddaughter Cynthia Young of Marion, AR; three brothers Marshall Young and wife Barbara of Nashville, AR; Jimmy Young and wife Margie of Jonesboro, AR; Ken Young and wife Debbie of Nashville, AR; two sisters Sharon Henderson and husband Delmer of Nashville, AR; and Patricia Harrison and Blake of Hot Springs, AR; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until service time, Saturday, October 14, at the Friendship Methodist Church in McCaskill, Arkansas. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 14, at the Friendship Methodist Church in McCaskill, with Bro. Jerry Evans officiating, burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
