William Hubert Hardin, Sr., age 82, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Nashville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Hardin was born on June 27, 1942 in Nashville, Arkansas to Laverne Hardin and Ella Mae Hawthorne Hardin. Mr. Hardin attended school in Mineral Springs, AR. He married Virginia Shannon Hardin on May 26, 1964. The Hardins raised their four children on the family's farm outside of Nashville. He was a poultry farmer and cattle rancher by profession.
Mr. Hardin was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Nashville, Arkansas where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Adult Four Men's Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laverne and Ella Mae Hardin, his mother-in-law Crystal Floyd Shannon, his son-in-law, John West, a brother, Larry Joe Hardin, and three brothers-in-law, Dennis McCauley, Bobby Quinn, and Larry Jay Stone, nephew, Anthony Quinn, nieces, Rena Hardin and Ella Grace McCauley.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Shannon Hardin, his three daughters, Stacy Gulick (Rory) of El Dorado, AR, Tracy Scott (David) of Buna, Texas, Dee Ann Smith (Lee) of Mena, AR and his son Billy Hardin (Dawn) of Nashville, AR. Mr. Hardin is survived by his three sisters, Sue Quinn, Pat Stone, and Sheila Phillips, his three brothers, Russell Hardin, Kenny Hardin, and Kirk Hardin. He will be deeply missed by his grandsons Cade Hardin, Garrett Smith, John Hardin and Josh Scott and granddaughters Leigha Newman and Savannah Rheude. He leaves a legacy of nine adoring great grandchildren, Poppy and Beau Newman, Dovie and Bear Smith, Casston, Cadee, and Cori Jo Scott, and Maylin and Ella Rheude. He was blessed with a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday July 23, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, at First Baptist Church in Nashville, with his nephew, Marty Quinn, and Brother Kevin Sartin officiating. Burial will be at Corinth Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons Cade Hardin, Garrett Smith, John Hardin and Damon Newman, his brother-in-law, Randy Phillips, and childhood friend, Johnny McAdams. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Adult Four Men's Sunday School Class.
