Wesley Darrel Stone

Welsey Darrel Stone, age 86 of Nashville, Arkansas, passed away on April 8, 2025 in Arkadelphia. He was born on August 15, 1938, son of the late Tom Stone and Nona Finney Stone.

Mr. Stone was a member of the Murfreesboro church of Christ. He served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. In his life, he had worked in several trades, both as a carpenter and as a grocery store manager, before becoming a house parent for the Southern Christian Home in Morrilton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, J.B. Stone, Grady Stone and Harold Stone; as well as three sisters, Pauline Eaves, Urcella Webb, Otha Bell.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-five years, Shirley Shows Stone; four children, Karen (Barry) Ponder, Melissa (Alan) Darden, Troy (Cynthia) Stone and Lisa Arceneaux; three sisters, Laverne Jones, Bonnie Nash and Donnie Baker; nine grandchildren, Misty (Doc) Harper, Andrea (Lance) Bridgeman, Sumner Darden, Julian Desoto, Amber (Justin) Jurek, Troy D. Stone, Beau (Ariel) Arceneaux and Gabriella (Jeremy) Almond; five great-grandchildren, Leo Almond, Mattie Almond, Saxon Darden, Raiden Arceneaux and Cooper Arceneaux; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Murfreesboro church of Christ.

Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Murfreesboro church of Christ with Buddy Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Delight Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
