Wanda Jean Sweeden

Wanda Jean Sweeden, 82, of Murfreesboro, AR, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 in Murfreesboro. She was born on December 27, 1932 in Highland, AR, the daughter of the late Newport Floyd and Ida Mae Lingo. Mrs. Sweeden was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, member of the United Methodist Women, and EMMAUS. She was an avid Rattler, Razorback, and Cowboy fan. She was a nurse for the Murfreesboro public school and Dr. Turbeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merlie "Bud" Sweeden; son, Jerry L. Sweeden; four sisters; one brother; and son-in-law, Billy Lauterbach. Survivors include, one daughter, Shirley Lauterbach of Murfreesboro; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Sweeden of Murfreesboro; granddaughter, Brandy Sweeden Dixon and husband, Kris; grandsons, Chris Richardson and Jeff Maybee; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 17, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro with Reverend James Wainscott officiating. Burial to follow at Academy Cemetery in Nathan under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the chapel, Murfreesboro. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Murfreesboro or the Senior Citizens Center or Murfreesboro.
