Vernon Lee Wilson, age 90, of Nashville, AR passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He was born November 6, 1929 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, son of the late George O. and Roberta Murry Wilson. Mr. Wilson was of Methodist faith. He was an Army veteran in the Korean War where he fought in three major battles including the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. He earned awards including a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service medal with three bronze service stars, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, and United Nations Service Medal. He was a very good ten pin bowler. At the age of seventeen he bowled a 300. Also, he was excellent at shooting pool with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his son Kevin Lynn Wilson and wife Hazel of Dayton, Texas; two daughters LuAnn Scruggs and husband Jim of York, Pennsylvania and Kathy Wilson; brother Robert Lynn Wilson of Sharleroi, Pensylvania; several grandchildren which he adored; Marjorie Clark who has been by his side for fifteen years and her children Stephen W. Clark and wife Jennifer of Shreveport, Louisiana and Celia Pope and husband Marc of Nashville; her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends.
