Terry Thomas age 55 of Murfreesboro Arkansas received his ultimate healing and entered into the arms of Jesus on November 8, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 7th 1958 to Gussie Hughitt and Corbitt Thomas in Sheridan AR. Terry married his best friend and high school sweetheart Patricia when she was 14 and he was 17 years old and has spent the last 36.5 years sharing their lives together. Each day being more in love than the day before, he never let a day pass without telling Patricia she was beautiful and that he loved her. Terry made a point of telling young couples that the secret to a happy marriage was âœmarry your best friend and keep her that way.â Terry would tell you all he ever wanted was a little girl to shower all his love on, so itâ™s no wonder that his one and only âœbaby girlâ Shana thought of him as her friend and hero. Terry had too many hobbies to count but some of his favorites were wood working and building things, beekeeping, deer hunting, duck hunting with his buddy Mark and fishing with his fishing partner Patricia. Terry was a devoted servant of Christ and served as deacon at Murfreesboro First Christian Church. He dearly loved his church family and was quick to tell everyone he met about his church family and then invite them to church. He loved teaching the Sunday night childrenâ™s class and strongly supported the FCC preschool saying it was an outreach to the entire community. He established the Angel Food Ministry at the church which later evolved into the FCC Food Pantry helping put food on the table for hundreds of families in the community. Two things he shared with everyone during his battle with cancer the last 3 years were his smile and his love for Christ and his familyâ¦.. Plus a few good stories about his precious granddaughters Kinslee and Jamie. Everyone knew Terryâ™s favorite song was âœIâ™ll fly away.â The hope and joy of that song truly reflects the man of God we all loved so. Survivors Include: his wife, Patricia Thomas of Murfreesboro; one daughter, Shana Howell and husband, Caleb Howell of Murfreesboro; granddaughters, Jamie and Kinslee Howell both of Murfreesboro; very dear friends, Mark Myers of Ashdown and Russell Fleharty of Hot Springs; his mother, Gussie Hughitt of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Roger Thomas and wife, Mary of Murfreesboro and Wendell Thomas and wife, Angela of Mena; sisters, Martha Christine McCauley and husband, Mickey of Murfreesboro, and Marvella Hughitt of Dierks; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
