Shirley Lavelle (Medlock) Smith

Shirley Lavelle Smith, age 81 of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 in Dierks. She was born on March 6, 1942 in Nashville to the late Donald Lavelle Medlock and Ida Balch Medlock.

Mrs. Shirley was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lockesburg. She also was a dual member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Hatfield and Gillham. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cross stitching, crossword puzzles and doing arts and crafts. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Smith, Jr., grandson Danny Downing, Jr., brother Eugene O’Bryant and sister Ida Mae Stelling.

Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-three years, Bobby Smith; son James Smith and his wife, Felicia; daughter Shirley Marvelle Downing and husband, Dennis; two granddaughters, Brandi Morrison and her husband Richard and Anna Cox and Zakery; her great-grandchild Emery Morrison; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
