Sarah Jo Barrett

Sarah Jo Humphry Barrett, age 88 of Delight, Arkansas died on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas. She was born in the Saline Community on August 15, 1935 to Ertice Cecil and Bertha Marie Humphry at the place they called Blue Heaven. 

Sarah was the oldest of eight children and loved her siblings dearly. Sarah was married to Dale Barrett on March 26, 1967. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. She retired from First State Bank of California. Sarah was a talented artist and many of her family members enjoy paintings that she created. Sarah was a devout Christian with an unwavering faith in Jesus. She was a member of First Christian Church in Murfreesboro.

Sarah is survived by her step-daughter Andrea Eide and husband Kevin of Hawaii. A step-son Mark Barrett of California. A sister, Emma Lee. Five brothers Winston and wife Kattie, Jimmy and wife Dale, Mike and wife Becky, Steve, and Ricky all of Delight. Four granddaughters Melissa Eide, Emily Fuentes, Katie Barrett, and Olivia Barrett. One grandson Daniel Barrett. Three great granddaughters Naiya, Sonya, and Jayda and many much-loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Barrett. Her parents, Ertice and Bertha Bell Humphry, brother Wayne and wife Joann, brother in law JJ Lee, sister in law Theresa Humphry.

Sara left this message for her family; “My desire, my greatest desire is that everyone will come to Jesus for a cleansing. He is pleading. He cares so much and He doesn’t care what your past is.”

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro, with burial to follow in Delight Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.

Pallbearers will be River Kirkham, Byron Humphry, Matthew Humphry, Seth Kirkham, Jeremy Humphry, Shan Humphry, and Josh Humphry.
