Robert Hugh Chism

Robert Chism, age 59 of Nashville, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in Little Rock. He was born on March 10, 1963 in Nashville to the late Bobby Chism and Betty Sue Latimer Tollett.

Robert was a member of the Cross Point Cowboy Church. He wore many hats. He was the Utility Director for the City of Magnolia and also owned and managed RC Systems Operations. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting. As years went by, his passion became team roping. He enjoyed working with his horses and cattle and was very passionate about working on the farm and building the Taymon Lane Arena. While roping, he could often be heard saying something like “My body won’t do what my mind tells it to” or “Thirty years ago, I never missed.”

Robert was the true epidemy of a man, husband and father. His love and faith for the Lord shined through his testimony. He was truly thankful to be alive after an episode with his heart in 2006. He never met a stranger. He was patient, loving, loyal, kind and wise. He loved life. Above all, he loved his family and his wife. When his children were growing up, Robert never missed his children’s cheer competitions, softball games baseball games, football games or horse shows.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Chism and stepfather J.E. Tollett.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 ½ years, Tina Gardner Chism; his mother Betty Tollett; his two daughters Taylor Lee Miller and Montana Rose Harper and husband Jason; his son Lane Chism; his brother David Hicks and wife Kristi; his sister Melinda Westfall and husband Ray; three grandchildren Emma Lee, William Cruz and Chism Wales; as well as a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2022 the Cross Point Cowboy Church near Nashville.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2022 at the Cross Point Cowboy Church with Bro. Don Jones officiating. Services are under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
