Randell Vernon Abbott, age 75, of Delight, Arkansas, died on Friday, September 2, 2022 at his home. He was born September 12, 1946 in Hot Springs, Arkansas the son of Imogene Faulconer Abbott and the late Vernon “Shorty” Abbott.
Mr. Abbott was a member of the Delight Methodist Church. He was a very active community member in the city of Delight, where he served as the leader of the Rural Community Alliance that was instrumental in the start of the Trader Days and Musicfest. Randy also was the founder of the Southeast Pike County Alliance, a member of the Delight City Council, as well as playing a big role in the Veterans Memorial in Delight.
Survivors include his wife Rhonda Abbott of Delight, AR; three sons Kevin Abbott of Maumelle, AR, Brad Abbott and wife Misty of Sherwood, AR, Mike Abbott and wife Lindsey of Russellville, AR; two daughters Amanda Beene of Horatio, AR, Anesha Ripley and husband Jon of Crossett, AR; his mother Imogene Abbott of Hot Springs, AR; father in law Edward “Harvey” Edge of Delight, AR; one sister Sandra Stewart and husband Bunnie of Hot Springs, AR; ten grandchildren Trenton Beene, Trace Beene, Tyler Beene, Joshua Ripley, Kaitlyn Abbott, Madlyn Ripley, Adilee Abbott, Andrew Abbott, Mia Abbott, and Parker Abbott; three great grandchildren Tanner Beene, Kallie Beene, and Kyler Beene, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 5, at Delight Methodist Church. Cremation services will follow under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
