On Wednesday, January 15, 2025 Phyllis Ann Pennington of Murfreesboro, Arkansas left this world for her heavenly home at the age of 80 surrounded by family. She was born September 7,1944 to Claude and Nora Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She was Phyllis to some, Mom to four but a Meme to many. She was known for her sweet signature smile and generous heart. No matter who you were, if you sat down at her table she was going to feed you. When she fed you, you knew it was going to be good. Her compassion for others lead her through a long and rewarding career as a Hospice aid for the local health department. She touched so many lives during her career. It was during this career that the most important life touched was her final love, Burnie Pennington Sr. They were joined in wedded bliss on April 17, 1999. For fourteen years they shared a beautiful life at their property in Nathan. Her passions included, growing flowers, sewing, singing, cooking and most importantly loving and taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Nora Park. Her husband Burnie Pennington Sr. Her oldest sister Jean and her husband Richard (Dick) Johnson. Her Brother in love, James (Jim) Bean.
Survivors include her children: Son, Timothy Turner and wife Deborah of Beach City, Texas. Daughter, Penny Caldwell and husband Larry of Alvin, Texas. Son, James (Scott) Turner and spouse Barbara Linville of Nashville, Arkansas. Daughter, Cindy Beth and Husband Charles (Moe) of Texarkana, Arkansas.
Bonus Son, Burnie Pennington Jr. and Wife April of Russellville, Arkansas. Bonus Son, Jody Pennington of Jacksonville, Arkansas. 16 Grandchildren and 28 Great Grandchildren. A sister Beatrice (Bea) Bean of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sister Betty Hill of Phoenix, Arizona . Sister Maxine Bishop of Marfa, Texas and Brother Larry Park of Whitney ,Texas.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm on Saturday January 18, 2025 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
A funeral service will follow beginning at 2:30 on Saturday January 18, 2025 in the Latimer Funeral Chapel in Nashville. Interment will follow in the Academy Cemetery near Nathan, under the direction of the Latimer Funeral Home.
