Peggy Jordan (Matlock) age 88 of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 21, 2024 at Howard Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Ms. Peggy was a faithful member of Owen’s Chapel Church for many years and when she was able she attended the local church in the community.
She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother. A g-maw to her girls and grands; also a very loyal fan of the Murfreesboro Rattlers.
She worked for Tyson Foods for over forty plus years as a U.S.D.A inspector. Some of her favorite things were making pies, especially for the Rattler coaching staff, watching her favorite soap opera The Days of Our Lives and The Price is Right. When she was visited by her therapist she would always ask if they could schedule her aid around her tv shows, that she didn’t want to miss but she recorded them daily.
She enjoyed sitting on her porch, working in her flower beds, and as Tonda said sitting in her favorite chair in her living room, being nosey, and saying “who is that?, that car has been up and down this road, I don’t know how many times.”
If you didn’t get a chance to have gotten or tasted one of her pies you missed a treat. When we went places without her and when we got back she always would ask who we saw and did they ask about her. (She was loved)
Mom or Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Joyce Smith, a brother, four sisters, and several great nieces.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters Gloria Nelson, Carol White, Nita Johnson all of Murfreesboro, Debbie Clardy and her friend Greg of Center Point.
Grandchildren Ricky Nelson (Quin) of Arkadelphia, AR, Roderick Jordan (Tiffany) of Texarkana, TX, Tonda White of Murfreesboro, AR, Marco White of Mineral Springs, AR, Corliss Johnson of Little Rock, AR, and Kartez Smith of Texarkana, TX;
Great grandchildren Malaya Graham and Ricardo Cheatham of Murfreesboro, AR, Raven and Caylin Nelson of Hot Springs, AR, McKinley White of Delight, AR, Cayveon , Greyson and Sophia White of Mineral Springs, AR, Avery and Addison Nelson of Murfreesboro, AR.
