Oscar Bennett

Oscar Bennett, 88, of Texarkana, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 in Texarkana Texas. He was born on July 2, 1925 in Nashville, AR, the son of the late Gus Bennett and Leila (Seals) Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, a retired business man, and a member of the Mandeville Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gay Bennett, four brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by five sons, David Bennett and wife Sandy of Alaska; Jack Bennett and wife Pam of Murfreesboro, AR; Guendell Bennett and wife Kay of Cookeville, TN; Jim Bennett of Orlando, FL; Steve Bennett of Orlando, FL; three daughters, Jan Feemster of Nashville, AR; Vickie Bennett of Conway, AR; Tammy Bennett of Murfreesboro, AR; two sisters, Marvelle Freeman of Texarkana, AR; Myrtle Walston of Texarkana, AR; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, with Bro. Ken Guthrie officiating. Burial to follow in Murfreesboro Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
