Oce Elizabeth Watts Drolet passed away on November 6, 2020 at the age of 89. Oce was born at Pisgah, Arkansas on December 4, 1930, The daughter of the late Neuman and Etha Garner Watts. Graveside Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 21, 2020 in Pisgah Cemetery with Leon McKinnon presiding under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home. Oce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert Drolet, brothers Coy Watts, Cleo Watts and Alton “Bo” Watts and by sisters, Daphine Smith, Ella Mae Cheney, Fay McPherson, Joy Licon, and Dorothy Watts. She is survived by sisters, Annette Casley and Cherrie Kay Glasgow, both of Houston, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Oce graduated from Delight High School in 1950. She attended nurses training in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital until her retirement. She moved to Houston, Texas in October of 2014, due to her failing health and to be nearer her family. She lived at an assisted livings facility until her death.
Oce was a member of First Baptist Church of Smyrna, Georgia where she volunteered as a greeter and usher. She was loved and will be missed by her friends there. She never had children, but loved her nieces and nephews and her many dogs.
