Nina Leota King Gatliff, age 99, a former resident of Delight, AR, passed from this life on September 22, 2010 at Silver Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Camden, AR. She was born December 2, 1910 on an Indian allotment outside of Verden, OK. She was the second child of the late Richard Grant and Carrie Maud Satterwhite King. She married Fletcher Daniel Gatliff on January 17, 1930 and together they had six children. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 28, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, Murfreesboro, with Bros. Tony Huffman and Mike Proctor officiating, burial in Delight Cemetery. She was very proud of her family and Indian heritage, being one fourth Cherokee Indian. She was a hard worker and believed you had to earn the rewards you receive in life. She saw many changes during her life. She enjoyed working in her yard and raising beautiful flowers and she had a vegetable garden until she fell and broke her hip in 2003. During her life, she was a teacher, a mid-wife, a quality control supervisor for Hudson Cannery in Forest Grove, OR, a farmer, and ran a chicken farm until she was 78 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher, in 1992, a daughter, Glaskia, a son, Donald, a great-grandson, Alan Rutherford, a step-grandson, Butch Salter, five sisters and brother-in-laws and two brothers. She is survived by son, Grant Gatliff and wife, Marcia, of Delight, daughter-in-law, Faydean Gatliff of Delight, and daughters, Celesta Bean of Irving, TX, Carolyn Lamkin and husband, Travis, of Stephens, AR and Sharon Culbertson and husband, Robert, of Paris, TX. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
