Mildred Baxley, 84, of Nashville, died Friday, November 4, 2011, at a Nashville nursing home. She was born February 19, 1927 in Lockesburg, AR, the daughter of the late Henry and Emma Young Butler. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville. Mother was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Baxley, and one brother, Dennis Lee Butler. She is survived by one son, Karon Dale Baxley of Nashville, AR; one daughter, Ginger Loucinda Hansen of Fayetteville, AR; one brother, John Henry Butler of Lockesburg, AR, and one sister, Bonnie Johnson of Sulphur Springs, TX; six grandchildren, Rodney, Todd and Brad Baxley, Christian, Clare, and Henry Hansen; and four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Jake, Kaylee and Kason Baxley and a host of friends. Mother was a sweet person through and through. She had a sweet look, a sweet disposition, and a sweet voice. She was the classic example of the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31. She was trustworthy, worked willingly with her hands whether in the garden or the yard; laying her hand to the spindle in sewing and cooking those wonderful fried pies, chocolate pies and cakes for a myriad of people in her lifetime. She always had words of encouragement and wisdom spoken in kindness and love. She looked well to the needs of her household and was never idle long. She put others before herself on numerous occasions serving them in any way she could. Mother loved her family so much. She loved the Lord, her church, her friends, her E.H. Club, the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Atlanta Braves, rodeos, Wheel-of-Fortune, Lawrence Welk, and burning leaves. She was a master at this even if what needed burning was wet. Mother will be missed indescribedly by all, especially her family. She was a tremendous influence on us and we all will be better people because of her presence in our lives. There will be a void in our hearts and lives that will never be filled but precious memories of her will always flood our souls. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 6, at First Baptist Church, with Bro. David Blase officiating, burial in Nashville Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville. You may send an online sympathy message at www.latimerfuneralhome.com.
