Michael Dewayne Hooper, 53, of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012. He was born September 13, 1959, at Dallas, TX, the son of Margie Wilson Gonzales and the late Arvel Wayne Hooper. Mike â�œStarter Manâ Hooper was a man who can be described as a hard working middle-class American. Having to help provide for his family Mike dropped out of school at fourteen and had three jobs by age eighteen. Learning his life trade skill of rebuilding starters and alternators from Booge Ryder, he quickly became a master of the mechanical skills involved. As a young man, Mike was an amateur dirt track race car driver until his career ending crash that led him to have two major back surgeries. Still able to work well with his hands, he continued to repair and rebuild starters and alternators the rest of his life. In Mikeâ�™s recreational time he enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. He is survived by his wife Joan Hooper; one son, Cody Dewayne Hooper of Murfreesboro, AR; his mother, Margie Gonzales of Dallas, TX; brother, Ronnie Wayne Hooper and sister, Lisa Carol Mason. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. , Saturday, September 22, at Academy Church, Nathan with Brother Al Terrell officiating.
