Mary Lois Verdon

Mary Lois Verdon, age 91 of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023. She was born on March 10, 1932 in Murfreesboro.

Mrs. Verdon was a member of the Japany Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Murfreesboro High School and went on to attend Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. She worked many years on her family’s farm where they raised cattle, swine and poultry. She later worked as a cook at the Murfreesboro Nursing Center. In her later years, her pass time became pencil coloring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister Janice Stuart and a granddaughter April Verdon.

She is survived by her son Stuart Verdon and his wife Debbie of Spicewood, Texas; granddaughter Amber Marckel; two great-granddaughters Kayla and Taylor Marckel; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Murfreesboro Nursing Center for the excellent care that they provided for Mrs. Verdon.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Japany Cemetery with Aaron Cooley officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
