Mary E. Mitchell

Mary E. Mitchell, 92 of Murfreesboro, Arkansas passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at her home. She was born on June 18, 1924 in Pleasant Valley, Arkansas the daughter of the late Samuel and Clarice Milam Wilcox. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Murfreesboro; a retired Home Economics teacher, a Home Demonstration Agent for Pike County, and an agent for the Child Protective Services. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband and best friend Emory Loyd Mitchell; brothers Doyne Wilcox, Dennis Wilcox, Wiley Wilcox; sisters Lou Hall, and Jewel Dean Boswell. Survivors include a daughter Jan Mitchell Burns (Joe) of Murfreesboro, AR; a son Tim Mitchell (Sarah) of Winthrop, AR; a sister Janelle Stanton of Conway, AR; brothers Kenneth Wilcox of Conway, AR; and Cecil Wilcox (Georgia) of Conway, AR; Grandchildren Jason Burns (Cheyana) of Murfreesboro, AR; Jillian Caldwell (Brian) of Nashville, AR; Mandy Ballard (Luke) of Hot Springs, AR; Brian Mitchell of Murfreesboro, AR; Hannah Hess (Kevin) of Arapahoe, CO; Micah Mitchell of Dierks, AR; Mark Mitchell of Freeport, TX; Tanner Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL; Nikki Neal of Magnolia, AR; and Amy Williams of Winthrop, AR; as well as fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 2, at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 3, at the First Christian Church in Murfreesboro, with Rob Evans officiating, burial to follow in Restland Memorial Park, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
