Mary Jovan Mims, 86 of Nashville, Arkansas passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 in Nashville, Arkansas. She was born on March 13, 1931 in Nashville, Arkansas the daughter of the late Clyde and Joe Allie Hill Gammill. Mrs. Mims was baptized at the Anitoch Baptist Church in Nashville. She was a cook for many years at Joda's Restaurant and E-Z Mart. She attended school at Nashville and later received her cosmetology degree. She was preceded in death by her husband Hollice Mims, two daughters Carolyn Harris, Maryilyn Upton, and one brother Raymond Gammill. Survivors include three sons Mike Mims of Nashville, AR; Hollice Mims and special friend Terri Pagona of McCaskill, AR; and Billy Mims of Prescott, AR; a daughter Jo Ann Fielding and husband Larry of McCaskill, AR; one brother Donald Gammill and wife Mary of Nashville, AR; a son in law Wayne Harris of Nashville, AR; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Avery's Chapel Cemetery, with Bro. Jarod Hendry officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
