Lyman Reese Slatton, 92, passed away on July 10, 2021 in Hot Springs, Ark. Lyman was born in Pisgah, Ark on December 19, 1928 to Frank and Lala (Henderson) Slatton.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Joy Rhea (Morrow) Slatton; his parents; five siblings--Foster Slatton, Juanita Gorum, Grice Slatton, Clyda Jackson, Lethel Slatton; and two sons-in law-- Jimmy Stone and Clifford Martin.
Lyman is survived by one sister, Joy Mae Brock and four children, Oscar Slatton, Peggy Stone, Matt Slatton and wife Terrie, and Kay Martin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Shannon Schwartz and husband Dave, Luke Slatton and wife Brianne, Kala Campbell and husband Josh, Jessica Grimsley and husband Craig, Ashley Brown and husband Matt, Casey Martin, John Slatton and wife Tara, Kolby Slatton and Shasta Robbins and husband Everett. He also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren, plus many special nephews, nieces, family and friends.
Lyman spent his career farming and logging, then raised racehorses in his retirement. In his free time, Lyman enjoyed road trips with his wife to watch the Razorbacks play, watching his grandchildren play sports, and traveling to see their racehorses run. Lyman loved visiting with people, especially in the early mornings at the coffee shop. He attended the Delight Church of Christ.
Memorials can be made to the Pisgah Community Building fund at the Bank of Delight and the Southern Christian Home in Morrilton.
Visitation will be 12:30 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2021 at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
