Kylan Summer Hendrix-Brown, 38, of Houston, TX, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Houston. She was born on April 9, 1978 in Hope, the daughter of David Leslie Hendrix and Shauna (Cheek) Ponton. Summer was a funeral director and worked for the postal service in Houston, Tx. She did volunteer work at the United Way Senior Citizens and the Mercy Tree Homeless Shelter. She is survived by her beloved son, Austin Gage Kuykendall of Houston, TX. Gage was her whole world, she loved him above all else. She is also survived by her father, David Hendrix of Antoine; her mother and stepfather, Shauna and Howell Ponton of Houston, Tx; grandmother, Faye Cheek of Delight; one brother, Danny Hendrix of Antoine; two sisters, Season Hendrix of Delight, and Deanna Hendrix of Dallas, TX; and two nephews, Tristan Hendrix-Nash of Delight, AR, and Jaxson Hendrix of Dallas, TX. A host of other relatives and friends mourn her passing. Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 14, at the Crossroad Assembly of God Church in Delight. Burial to follow at Delight Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro. Pallbearers will be Nap Nash, Tommy Henderson, Adam Hill, Jerry Thompson, Justin Cheek, and Jonathon Cheek.
