She moved from her parent's farm in Pleasant Hill to some land near the Blue Mailbox where she would spend the next 70 years. She had four children in a five year span and settled to become a resourceful farm wife, even working sometimes as a teacher's aide at Delight Public Schools. She was an amazing cook with a gift for hospitality. She was always ready to add another plate to her table. Everyone was welcome and they never left hungry or empty-handed. She was a talented seamstress. Joy Rhea was quick to share her knowledge with her family. She loved to tell stories of times past and was truly a wealth of knowledge. She loved making jewelry and sharing it with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, journaling, scrapbooking, gardening, playing games, and working puzzles of all kinds. She never missed an episode of Wheel of fortune. She was her husband's number one travel buddy. They loved to take road trips to see the Razorbacks play, watch their children and grandchildren play, and in retirement, see their racehorses run. Wherever she would go, she was always glad to be back "on her hill." Joy Rhea was a member of the Delight church of Christ. Above all else, she loved the Lord, and she spent a lifetime of example for all that knew her. She was a true lady of beauty and grace.
