Jimmy R. Cherry of Murfreesboro, Arkansas passed away on Monday September 5, 2016 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born on July 11, 1940 in Provo, Arkansas the son of the late Joe and Mildred Wise Cherry. Mr. Cherry was a self-employed contractor, a Baptist, and a retired volunteer fireman for the Murfreesboro Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife Barbara Cherry of Murfreesboro, AR; a son Jimmy Don Cherry and wife Julie of Murfreesboro, AR; three sisters Billie Walker of Murfreesboro, AR; Betty Cooley and husband Mack of De Queen, AR; Lila Putney of Nashville, AR; two grandchildren Dalton and Levi Cherry of Murfreesboro, AR; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 7, at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 8, at the First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, with Bro. Jerry Hill and Bro. Johnny Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Oakgrove Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
