Jimmie Jean White

December 16, 1928 — November 13, 2017

JIMMIE JEAN TOLLETT WHITE, 88, of Nashville, passed away peacefully Monday morning, November 13, 2017, in Nashville. Mrs. White was born on December 16, 1928, in Mineral Springs, Arkansas, to the late N.R. and Chloe Humphries Tollett. The family moved to Nashville and she began first grade at Nashville Schools. She graduated from Nashville High School in 1946 and waited for her high school sweetheart, Billy White, to return from Berlin, Germany, where he was serving in the Army Air Corp. They wed on July 31, 1946, and were married for 60 years. Mrs. White and her husband were owners of Tollett's Gifts and Radio Shack for 53 years. As a Registered Bridal Consultant, Mrs. White enjoyed working with hundreds of young brides-to-be and their families. Her successful business was a staple in the community for many years, and she used her talents to give back to the community she loved. "J.J.," as she was known by her many friends, will forever be remembered for her magnetic personality, quick wit, and most importantly, her heart to serve. From supporting area fundraisers, to starting a community-wide Christmas Card drive for residents in area nursing homes, she brought joy and cheer to so many. She was honored to be recognized as the Nashville Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year in 2000. Mrs. White was also a life-long member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she served as the Children's Choir Director, Pianist, and Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Billy White. She is survived by one daughter, Susan Tucker of Carlisle, and three sons: Randy White and wife Sue of Nashville; Billy White, Jr. and wife Kathy of Conway; Doug White and wife Robyn of Plumerville; ten grandchildren: Craig White and wife Jacque of Rogers; Carrie Teeter and husband Matt of Little Rock; Trish White of Little Rock; Jarred White of Conway; Matthew Morris and wife Erica of Carlisle; Emily D'Angelo and husband John of Carlisle; Robert Barringer of Conway; Beth Milligan and husband Chad of Vilonia; Melanie Sisson and husband Ben of Vilonia; Kimberly Berkemeyer and husband Cole of Morrilton; sixteen great-grandchildren: Brandon and Shelby White; Madison, Paxton and Peyton Teeter; Michael, John and Eli Morris; Marcy Morris and Kendall Neil; Jakobe Barringer; Triston and Keldon Milligan; Brody and Mason Sisson; and Braxton Berkemeyer.
