Jessie M. Sweeden Hill

March 22, 1933 — July 29, 2015

Jessie Mae Sweeden Steel Hill 82 of Murfreesboro, Arkansas died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on March 22, 1933 in Daisy Arkansas. The daughter of the late Jim and Etta Cornish Sweeden. She lived her life always putting God first and always putting other before herself. Other than God, her role as mother and grandmother were the most important things in her life. The way she lived her life showed us that perseverance through adversity is a powerful lesson. We should all keep the important things in life in focus, keep your priorities straight, and always show your family how much you love them each and every opportunity you have. Mom cared deeply for everyone she knew. She always saw the good in everyone and was always ready to help someone in need. She was a very generous, loving, and unselfish woman. We will miss her with all our hearts and will always cherish the many years we were blessed to have her in our lives. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Harold Steel in 1975 and her second husband Jesse "Bobby" Hill in 1979. Five brothers Preston Sweeden, Lewis Sweeden, Merlie (Big Bud) Sweeden, Berlie (Little Bud) Sweeden, and Jack Sweeden. Survivors include her three daughters Teresa Schooley and husband Ray, Lisa Hughes and husband Fred, and Angela McBay all of Murfreesboro, AR; five grandsons Kendall Cox, Brandon Hughes, Brent McBay, Eric McBay and wife Allison, and Corey Hughes. Two great-grandsons Connor McBay and Colt McBay, she is also survived by her lifelong friend Doris Lingo and her faithful dog Pixie. Three brothers Tom Sweeden, Bob Sweeden, and Dallas Sweeden, two sisters Joyce Reed, and Linda King. As well as a number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 31 at the Murfreesboro Church of Christ, with Tommy Mounts officiating, a private family burial service will follow.
