James “Jim” Franklin Schooley, age 63 of Columbus, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in Columbus. He was born on October 7, 1959 in the Bluff Springs community near Mineral Springs to the late James Alvin “Sonny” Schooley and Marjorie Jones Schooley.
James loved to work with his hands. He enjoyed working on old trucks and was a carpenter. He could build anything and had a tool for everything. He was a loving father, son, brother and grandfather. He never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece Alexis Schooley and nephew Zechariah Melson.
Survivors include his two daughters Kimberly Schooley and fiancé Dustin Benish, and Jennifer Schooley and fiancé Adam Parker; four sisters Judith Hood, Josie Thomas and husband Zane, Janet Bolender and husband Ken, and Diane Pittman; six grandchildren including Caitlyn Gummeson, Hayden Tyree, Braden Schooley, Jadyn Schooley, Cameron Fields and Madison Fields; great-grandchild Braylen Schooley; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Columbus Baptist Church in Columbus. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
