James Phillip Cobb, age 86 passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Nashville, Arkansas. He was born November 28, 1935 in Cove, Arkansas to the late Lawton Cobb and Hazel Driggers Cobb.
James was drafted into the Army in 1958 and served in Korea, Vietnam, and various US locations. He retired in Fort Riley Kansas in 1978 as a Sergeant First Class and return to Nashville with his family. He began working at the Briar Plant the same year. He drove a truck in the mine’s until he retired from there in 1998.
He married Ella Frances Hedrick on 23 June 1966. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage. He always said she was the love of his life and she never let him forget it. Together they raise two children and he never hesitated to tell them how proud he was of them and that he loved them.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville since 1990.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Bufkin.
James survivors include his wife, Ella Frances Cobb of Nashville, Arkansas; one son, Chris Cobb and wife Sarah of Dequeen, Arkansas, daughter, Jakayla Mobley of Leavenworth, Kansas; four grandchildren, Chris Mobley, Sylvia Mobley, Whitney Rosenbaum, Zack Shankles, eight great grandchildren, Boden, Griffin, Eli, Weston Shankles, Jaxson Rosenbaum, Ellie Ann Burn, Mason and Lillian Mobley, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service with full military honors will be 2:00pm Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Corinth Cemetery with Bro. Kevin Sartin Officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made by planting a tree at the Nashville City Park or to Gideons International, PO Box 97251, Washington DC 20090-7251, www.gideons.org/donate
