Jackie Cornish Steeley, age 83, died peacefully on June 11, 2012, at Hospice Home Care In-Patient Center in Little Rock. Ark. She was greatly loved and tenderly cared for by family and staff. She is survived by two daughters, Rev. Linda Kline and husband Kenneth of Perryville, Ar., Danna Jones and husband Charles of Murfreesboro, Ar., two grand-daughters, Traci Jones of Murfreesboro, Ar., Holly Choate and husband Ryan of Little Rock, Ar., one brother, Alvin Cornish of Little Rock, Ar. and several nieces and nephews. All her "grand-dogs" gave her much joy and happiness as well as "Honey", the pet therapy dog at Hospice. Mrs. Steeley was born in Dierks, Ark, and graduated from Nashville High School in 1946. After a 35 year career in professional nursing in Dallas, Texas, she retired to Little Rock, Ar. to be near her Arkansas family. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Circle One. Her church family was attentive throughout her illness with visits, calls, and prayers. Little Rock visitation will be Thursday, June 14th, from 6-8 PM in the Narthex of First Christian Church, 1500 N. Mississippi, Little Rock, Ar. Her Pastor, Rev. Kevin Robbins will officiate her Memorial Service on Saturday, June 16, 2:00 PM at Biggs Chapel in Nathan, Ar. The family is deeply grateful to Dr. Morgan Sauer and all the staff of Hospice Home Care In- Patient Center, Dr. Stephen Holt and Catherine Minor of LRDC, Dr. Lloyd Warford and staff of St. Vincent Wound Center, for the loving compassionate medical care they provided during Jackie's lifetime. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Hospice Home Care Center, Arkansas Humane Society, Biggs Chapel Cemetery Fund or a favorite charity.
