Jackie Jones of Dierks, Arkansas passed away on Thursday September 22, 2016 in Nashville, Arkansas. He was born on January 27, 1953 in Nashville, Arkansas the son of the late James Carmel Jones and Essie Eudy Jones. Mr. Jones retired from the Briar Plant with 20 plus years of service, and was a Deacon at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Jones went through 14 surgeries in 13 months while taking kidney dialysis 3 days a week. He received his prosthetic legs after enduring numerous amputations and was about to face yet another amputation on his hand to remove three fingers. His hope was to be able to walk into Church and was working very hard at achieving this goal during his therapy. He was a resident of Mine Creek Healthcare for about a year. He was preceeded in death by his wife Gloria (Lawrence) Jones and his sister, Cathy Johnson. Survivors include his daughter Becky Lambeth, her husband Kyle and his son Billy Jones; three brothers; David Jones, Mackie Jones, and Eddie Jones; his sister; Linda Phelps; five grandchildren; Jared Lambeth, Megan Lambeth, Hunter Lambeth, Michael Olsen, and Dakota Stinnett; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, September 24th, at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 25th, at the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with Broother JW Gilbert and Brother Calvin Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Sunshine Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Therapy Department at Mine Creek Healthcare Center.
