Helen Loretta Tallant

Helen Loretta (McElhannon) Tallant, 80, of Murfreesboro Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Friday November 1, 2013. She was a member of Harvest Time Assembly of God. She was born on January 26, 1933 in Dierks Arkansas, the first of three daughters to the late Oliver and Florence (Stokes) McElhannon. Her two sisters are Kathleen Tuberville of Italy TX and Willie Dell Lindsey (deceased) of Nashville, AR. Married in 1951 to Bernard R. Tallant, he preceded her in death in 1996. Together they raised three girls in the Boto community south of town. She was a twenty four year employee of various local pharmacy�s and then another twenty four year employee of Jane and Al Terrell at Jif-E-Corner in Murfreesboro. Helen is survived by Linda and Jerry Johnson of Nashville, AR; Patricia and John Choate of Jacksonville, AR; and Louise and Larry Slusser of Cabot, AR. She will be missed by her five grand-kids and great grand-kids: Cindy and Fred Padilla of Quanicolla and their two girls, Taylor Della Valle and Amy Padilla; Kevin and Michelle Couch of Nathan, AR and daughter Allie Couch; Melissa and Mark Collins of Nathan, AR and their three children, Justin Robbins, Kyla and Josie Collins; Shelley and Nicholas Melton of Danville, AR and their three children, Alyssa, Eathan and Kash Melton; and Sarah Slusser of Little Rock, AR. Helen and Bernard left behind many, many friends and relatives in the Murfreesboro area. Also in-laws, nieces and nephews in Gary Indiana, Nashville Arkansas, and Italy Texas. Services will be held Monday November 4, 2013 at 2 P.M. at the Latimer Funeral Home chapel in Murfreesboro, with visitation on Sunday November 3, 2013 from 5 P.M to 7 P.M. Bro. Al Terrell and Bro.
