Grace Irene Walker Day, age 103, of Nashville passed away at Robinson Nursing and Rehabilitation in North Little Rock on December 27, 2012. She was born November 23, 1909 to William Joseph Walker and Annie Funderburg Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years Carter Richard Day and her two sisters Mattye Coley and Mary Walker. She is survived by her two children Rosemary Day Donaldson (Charlie), Carter Richard Day Jr. (Angela), four grandchildren Christa Cay Donaldson Dale, Jonathan Dale Donaldson, Richard Aaron Day, and Kimberly Gail Day Gardner (Steve), one great grandson William Foster Gardner, a sister Charlene Wright and a number of nieces and nephews. Irene was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nashville, a charter member of the Mine Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and other organizations during her life. She had a great since of humor. She loved to travel, sew and work in her yard. She was employed at Pile Drug (Nashville) for many years. The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 at Latimer Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 29 at the Nashville Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Dale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial be made to the First Baptist Church of Nashville, the Mine Creek Chapter of the DAR or the Christian Health Center.
