Grace Marie Byrom

November 2, 1920 — April 24, 2017

Grace Marie Byrom (Grandma Grace) 96 of Mineral Springs, Arkansas passed from her worldly home on Monday, April 24, 2017 in Nashville, Arkansas. She was born on November 2, 1920 in Glenpool, Oklahoma the daughter of the late Cairl V. and Burley Rebecca Clanton Cass. Mrs. Byrom was a member of the Industrial City Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas where she lived from 1948 to 1962. Grace began raising chickens for Tyson Foods in 1969 until the ice storm in 2000, when she retired at age 80. She loved fishing, gardening, working in the yard, sewing, quilting, with much of her work being hand stitched and hand quilted. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles the bigger the better and couldn't hardly be beat in dominoes or forty-two. She loved holding kids of all ages and singing songs that her Daddy used to sing to her. She lived through two World Wars, the Great Dust Bowl, The Great Depression, and many long hard days in the cotton field picking cotton or bowls. She wasn't a stranger to hard work and hard times. She made the best of what life dealt her. She loved her family but most of all her God. The world is a better place because of her. She was preceded in death by her husband Horace James Byrom, a daughter Burley Byrom Furr, a grandson Rodney Furr, eight siblings Roy M. Cass, Dorothy O. McBath, Herman H. Cass, Rebecca M. (Becky) Crow, Theresa M. (Bobbie) Mitchell, Burl B. (Johnny) Cass, Mary Jane Shirley, Cairl Lee (Carl) Cass, as well as two son in laws Vernon Landtroop and Charles Furr. Survivors include four daughters Annie Ruth Byrom Landtroop of Mineral Springs, AR; Clara Marie Furr of Nashville, AR; Joy May Byrom Scott and husband Loyd of Mineral Springs, AR; and Barbara Fay Byrom Short and husband Carey of Nasvhille, AR; grandchildren Jammy Furr, Sherry Pedron, Janna Lee Young, Johnny L. Furr, Shane Landtroop, Sheraye Landtroop Cox, Shay Landtroop, Lavoline Scott Beaird, Marion Scott, Amanda Short Campbell, Greg Furr, and Curtis Furr. Great grandchildren Ansley Landtroop, Brandy Tuberville, Chance Keeton, Meghan Floyd, Sarah Furr, Morgan Furr, Kaylan Smith, Dustin Pedron, Jarrah Furr, Charles L. Furr, Tambra Hughes, Tia Shamoon, Tiffany Wilson, Marion Loyd Scott Jr., Josh Alan Scott, Jonathan Scott, Dakota Beaird, Ashton Short, Grace Campbell, Maggie Campbell, Thatcher Furr, Slade Furr, and Abby Furr; as well as thirty three great-great grandchildren, son in law Jimmy Furr and her best friend of fifty five years Addie Belle Rogers. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, April 27 at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville. Celebration of life services will be 3:00 P.M., Friday, April 28 at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville, with Bro. Keith Mays and Brenton Furr officiating, burial to follow in County Line Cemetery. Under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
