Frances Tyndall Clardy, age 96, of Conway Arkansas, passed from her earthly life on January 15, 2025, after a brief illness. Frances was born on December 2, 1928 in Nashville, Arkansas. She was the daughter of William Tyndall and Rachel Northum Tyndall. She was the fourth of their five children, William, Carolyn, Robert, and John.
Frances graduated from Nashville High School shortly after World War II and then attended Southern Arkansas University while her sweetheart, Winfred, was away serving his country. Upon his return, they were married on August 17, 1947 in Hot Springs. Together, they continued their education at Henderson State University, living in the GI trailer camp. Later, Frances received her masters degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Frances taught school for many years in Mineral Springs, Arkansas where she taught home economics in the high school. She later taught junior high science in Nashville, Arkansas and North Little Rock. Frances made many good teaching friends through the years.
After retiring from teaching, Frances returned to her artistic talents. She became an accomplished watercolorist and taught watercolor classes at the Shepard Center in North Little Rock. If you were lucky, you would get a hand painted greeting card in the mail for some special occasion. Frances also had a talent when it came to floral arrangements. She loved flowers and arranging them for her church and friends. She grew a variety of beautiful flowers and other plants in her yard and enjoyed being outside among them.
Frances had been a member of the Church of Christ and had, of lately, attended the Windsong Church of Christ in North Little Rock. She had many beloved friends through the years from Mineral Springs Church of Christ, Sunset Church of Christ in Nashville, and Sylvan Hills Church of Christ. She was a faithful member throughout her life and enjoyed teaching bible classes to the children, attending ladies bible classes, hosting church small groups in her home.
Remaining to cherish Frances’s memory are her children, James (Ann) Clardy of Little Rock, Sara (Chuck) Shipp of Conway, and Daniel (Barb) Clardy of Conway. Grandchildren: Ben (Morgan) Clardy of Dallas, TX, Hannah Clardy of Little Rock, Rachel (Tommy) Drury of Oklahoma City, Zac (Alexa) Shipp of Conway, Maddie (Jordan) Cagle of Conway, Molly (Zak) Himes of Fayetteville, Holden and Will Clardy of Conway. Great grandchildren: Beckett Clardy, Thomas Drury, Stella Shipp, Addie Shipp, Frankie Cagle, Cole Cagle and Emerson Himes. Frances also leaves behind her beloved sister, Carolyn Davis of Austin Tx.
Preceding Frances in death is her husband of 59 years, Winfred Clardy, her brothers William Tyndall, Robert Tyndall and John Tyndall.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at County Line Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Nashville.
