Evelyn Loomis

June 21, 1936 — December 1, 2015

Evelyn Loomis of Bryant, passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was born on June 21, 1936, in Delight, AR to Ernie and Bessie Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Leonard and by sister, Lois Wagley all of Delight. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Loomis, two sons, Rick (Mary) of Yantis, TX and Vick (Gina) of Alexander; one sister, Mary Frances Shope of Bryant; one sister-in-law, Peggy Loomis of Murfreesboro; one granddaughter, Michelle Ford of Dover; two grandsons, Jacob and Jordan Loomis of Alexander, one great-granddaughter, Harley Ford of Dover; and one special niece, Ruth Lockwood of Delight. She was an avid bowler, traveling all over the country to bowling tournaments. She was a member of the Mabelvale Church of Christ. Services will be Saturday, 2:00 PM at the Murfreesboro Church of Christ with Randy Hughes and Brother Dale Morris officiating. Burial to follow at Delight Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
