Evelyn Erwin, a long time resident of Paraloma, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday morning, September 7, 2013. She was born October 22, 1920 in Little Rock, Arkansas to William F. and Ethyl Collie. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of fifty three years Eugene, â�œSnooksâ, Erwin , Brothers Ralph Collie and Bill Collie and sisters Lorene Bright and Ruth Bull. Evelyn is survived by five sons and daughters in law, Jerry and Margaret Erwin of Fairview, Texas, Dale and Kay Erwin of Paraloma, Arkansas, Larry and Pat Erwin of Paraloma, Rick and Janet Erwin of Paraloma; Tim and Kim Erwin of Paraloma and one sister-in-law, Nita Collie of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Evelyn is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Evelyn and Snooks moved to Paraloma shortly after being married with the thought in mind that they would return to Little Rock after a short visit. She complained laughingly that the short visit lasted a lifetime. Evelyn was a Baptist and a member of the Brownstown, Arkansas congregation. Evelyn was deeply interested in the history of Paraloma and assembled pictures and articles that date back to the early 1900s. Evelynâ�™s sense of humor will be missed. She was a great mother, grandmother and wife who loved to talk about the accomplishments of her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
