Elsie Caroline Jones

Elsie Carolina Jones, 84, of Merkel, TX, formerly of Dierks, AR, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 in Merkel, TX. She was born on November 14, 1924 in Burg, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Wesley and Martha Sue (Austin) Porter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Jones; one infant son, Lewis Jones, Jr.; and one sister, Ethel Porter. Survivors include: five sisters, Elma Bohanon of Nashville, Mary Cogburn of Merkel, TX, Bessie Williams of Oklahoma City, OK, and Verlean Cogburn and Ann Cogburn both of Glenwood, AR. Lots of nieces, nephews, and other relatives survive her. Graveside Services will be Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in Old Liberty Cemetery in Burg, Arkansas.
