Edward Leroy Sharp, age 86 of Nashville, Arkansas, passed away on January 31, 2023 at his home after his battle with cancer over the past four and a half years and finally a battle with Covid. He was born on August 10, 1936 in Center Point, the son of the late Voyle Duncan Sharp and Inez Smith Sharp.
Mr. Sharp served his country in the United States Air Force. He was part of the 6511th Air Research and Development and was Load Master on C130s and C119s. He later served approximately six years in the civil service for El Centro Navy Base. He was the drop controller for parachute testing. He owned a farm with cattle and poultry operations for over thirty years.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years Dianna Sharp; two brothers Bill Harberson and wife Susan, Johnny Henderson and wife Peggy; two sisters Betty Wells and Sue Daniels; his mother-in-law Betty Wilken; his brother-in-law Kenneth Wilken and wife Trish; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023, in the Latimer Funeral Chapel in Nashville with Bro. Bruce Short officiating. Interment will follow in Sunshine Cemetery in Mount Carmel.
