Edith May Walters, age 81 of Nathan, Arkansas passed away December 14, 2021 at her home in Nathan, Arkansas. She was born February 27, 1940 in Nathan, Arkansas the daughter of the late Jep Hampton and Irene White Hampton.
Mrs. Walters started her career as a photographer that later on began to raise chickens. In 1992 her and her sister built hog houses and then sold their farm in 2004. Edith worked at Mine Creek Healthcare in Nashville, Arkansas where she retired six years later as a dietician. She loved her family and had battled stage 4 lung cancer for 8 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Walters.
Survivors include one daughter Deborah Sisson of Nathan, AR; one brother Carroll Hampton of Nathan, AR; two sisters Velma Justice of Bastrop, TX, Betty Young of Nashville, AR; two granddaughters Nikki Barker and husband Tay, Brittney Crabtree and husband Matthew of Tokio, AR; three great granddaughters Raegan Spillers, Annistyn Barker, and Adalynn Crabtree; three great grandsons Lee Barker, Orion Barker, and Braxton Crabtree; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 18, at Academy Cemetery in Nathan, Arkansas, with Bro. John David Watson officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Pallbearers will be Braden Nutt, Justin Kilcrease, Richard Curry, Kevin Couch, Matthew Crabtree, and Matthew Heaston.
