Edith Estell May

Edith Estell May passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was born in Boughton, Arkansas, on May 16, 1922 to Jesse Walter Baker and Tempe Estell Box Baker. Edith loved the Lord and was active in the Delight United Methodist Church. Over the many years she was worship Leader, board member, Sunday School Teacher, and sang in the choir. Edith was a 54 year member of the East Delight Extension Homemaker Club, joining them in 1963. She celebrated her 50 year anniversary with a special reception at which she was presented with an American Flag that had been flown over the United States Capitol. Over the years she served in various club officer positions, also serving in the county as EHC Council President and other elected offices. She was one of the "movers and shakers" of the Delight community, always involved in any project that her club was involved in. Edith is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Joe Baker, a sister Pauline Blevins, and her son Michael Keith May. Edith was married on June 27, 1943 and survived by the love of her life of 74 years Bert May . One son Charles May and wife Nan of Delight, AR; one grandson Jesse May and wife Beth of Portland, TN; great granddaughters Elise May and Emma May of Portland, TN; one sister Ruby Wicker of Prescott, AR; as well as a host of friends and family. Pallbearers will be Jesse May, Shaun Hill, Brandon Buck, Charles Juliano Jr., Shane Riggle, and Patrick Fenton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim May, Bill Ludlam, Cyril Stewart, Don Calicott, James May and Lindsay Blevins. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Murfreesboro. An additional visitation will be Thursday, July 13 at the Delight United Methodist Church from 10:00 A.M., until 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 13, at the Delight United Methodist Church with Rev.
