Dorothy J. Garner

Dorothy J. Norwood Garner, 88, of Nashville, died Thursday, September 18, 2014. She was born on September 17, 1926 in Bingen, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Charlie Norwood and Carrie Jackson Norwood. She was retired from Montgomery Ward's and a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Garner. Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn McFarland and husband, Larry of Greenwood, Indiana, and Laura Carlton and husband, Joe of Nashville; 4 grandchildren, Thomas Higginbotham of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer Hunt of Indianapolis, Indiana, Michael Carlton of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Dana Carlton of Nashville; and 16 great grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends mourn her passing. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 22, 2014 at Ozan Cemetery in Bingen under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville, Arkansas.
