Doris Janet Coulter, age 87 of Nashville, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at her home. She was born on June 27, 1935 near Nashville to the late Silas and Wadie Sampson Whitmore.
Mrs. Coulter was a member of the Frontline Christian Ministries in Nashville. Previously, she had been a long-time member of Williams Memorial COGIC, where she was a member of the Mother’s Board, Prayer Warriors and The Voices of Praise Choir. She also was a member of the NAACP, Beautician’s Club, Planning and Zoning Committee and was very active in volunteer work. Above all, she loved God and cherished time spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Gail Graves, granddaughter Natalia Carson, stepson Ricky Coulter, sisters Clementeen Adams, Gean Whitmore, Jacquelyn Whitmore, Ivy Briggs, Elnora Giron, Mary Gamble, Geraldine Stuart, one brother Silas V. Whitmore.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Logan Coulter, Jr., one son Chester (Deborah) Coulter; four daughters Quonya Coulter, Lisa Coulter, Marsha (Tim) Sanders, and LaVonda Coulter; two brothers Paul E. (Lenora) Whitmore and Donald Whitmore; two sisters Wadie Spencer and Patricia (MacArthur) Farmer; a sister-in-law Corliss Lewis; thirteen grandchildren including Ryan Swift, Damon Coulter, Belinda Malinez, DeShana Betancourt, Aaron Pugh, Kevin Brazil, Jr., Michael McFadden, Khyree Carson, DeVonte Carson, Marshaunti Sanders, Timya Sanders, Kiana Banks, Makhi Johnson; sixteen great-grandchildren, two god-daughters Yshunta Benson and Tara Whitmore, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The wake will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville. Interment will follow in Saint Paul Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
