Dick Bowen, 80, of Murfreesboro, Arkansas went home to be with his Lord May 7, 2011. He was born May 23, 1930 in Delight, Arkansas the son of the late John Fred and Irene Lucille Stewart Bowen. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro. Mr. Bowen was preceded in death by his wife Martha Jo Tucker Bowen; Siblings Fred Irene Sexton, William Bowen, Connie Bateman, and Joe Bowen. Two great-grandchildren Cristian and Jayna. Survivors include his wife Betty Bowen of Murfreesboro, AR; children and their spouses, Carol and Terry Haney of Weatherford, TX; Delight and Bennie Blount of Killeen, TX; Richard E. Bowen of Duncan, OK; Debbie and Steve Bailey of Belleville, IL; Melanie and Ray Belt of Odessa, TX; Jody and Teresa Bowen of Ardmore, OK; Dale and Susan Wingrove of Nashville, AR; and Lori and Marvin Eubanks of Gulf Port, MS; Siblings, Landrum and Lois Bowen of Bellingham, WA; Arnold Bowen of Murfreesboro, AR; Carolyn Ramsey of Nashville, AR; and a host of nieces, nephew, and friends. Grandchildren Michelle and Keith Carter, Stephanie Bailey, Bennie Blount II, Melissa and Jimmy Smittle, Rachel Blount, Kyle Stevenson, Heather and William Rhodes, Elizabeth and Vincent Toppetta, Josh Bowen, Terra Bowen, Andrew and Sarah Bailey, Ashleigh and Tim Blavesciunas, Matthew Belt, Kayla and Brandon Milner, Martha Jo Bowen, Hannah Crawford, Matthew and Kali White, Eric and Fashia Eubanks, Rusty and Claire Steele, and Regan and Steven Wakefield. Great Grandchildren Tyler Carter, Sierra Haney, Grace Smittle, Jimmy Smittle IV, Jonathan McElroy, Darren Knighten, Lillian Blount, Canaan Toppetta, Leo Scott Bailey, Raeleigh Milner, Bryce Milner, Ana Bella White, Jasmine Wakefield, Jonathan Eubanks, and Elizabeth Eubanks. Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 9, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro with Bros. David McCord, Lee Walker, and Jerry Hill officiating, burial will follow in Murfreesboro Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro. The family will receive friends, Sunday, May 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro building fund.
