He didn't get to see any exotic ports because he was always underwater. He was honorably discharged and left the Navy on a Friday. He became employed Monday with Martin Marietta, which contracted with NASA to work on the launch pad in Cape Canaveral, Fl. On one project all members signed their names (including his) and it was sent into space. The company merged with Lockheed Martin and he was employed there in Decatur, AL. He was a baptized believer of God. He loved his family and friends. He loved visiting with them when he could. He visited in June every year for his grandmother's family reunion. He had a dry sense of humor, so you couldn't tell if he was being truthful or pulling your leg. But he had a truly kind, compassionate spirit.
