Charles Martin Kennedy, age 97 of Murfreesboro, Arkansas died on Monday, October 25, 2021 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born June 25, 1924 in Glenwood, Arkansas the son of the late Ottis Kennedy Sr. and Carrie Wisener Kennedy.
Mr. Kennedy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a surgical technician with several different fields and general hospital units in the European Theater of Operations. Other organizations that he was active in included the Pike County Archives and the AMVETS where he served as President for the chapter.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Royston, Gilbert, and Lewis “Bud” Kennedy, and one sister Jane Ann Kennedy.
Survivors include one brother Donald Kennedy of Murfreesboro, AR; one sister Dorothy Partain of Murfreesboro, AR; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 29, at County Line Methodist Church in Glenwood, with Wayne Kennedy officiating, burial to follow in County Line Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
The funeral home will be open for viewing Thursday, October 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
