Cathey Backus

Cathey Backus, age 65, of Nashville, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018. She was born on September 4, 1953 to the late Winnie Phillips and Clifford Spears. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville. Ms. Backus worked at the Howard County Children's Center as a teacher and mentor for over 30 years. She found great pride in working with the adult clients, whom she treated as family and considered them as such. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Backus 3RD, her son, Jacob Backus and her parents. Survivors include; one son, Roy Backus 4TH and wife Julie of Mineral Springs, AR; one brother, Mark Spears and wife Debbie of Nashville, AR; One sister, Janet Schade and husband Curtis of Nashville, AR; five grandchildren, Brittany Backus, Zach Backus, Kailee Backus, Rylee Backus, Brody Backus; three Nephews, Christopher Spears, Michael Fisk, Shon Barnett, two nieces Holly Keeter and Amber Barnett and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be 5:00 to7:00 P.M., Saturday, September 29, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 30, at Bluff Springs Cemetery, with Bro.
