Carrietta Virginia Delaney

Carrietta Virginia Delaney, 83, of Delight, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. She was born November 3, 1931 in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of the late Alonzo and Sylvia Harpole. Carrietta is preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Sylvia Harpole; her husband, William (Son) Delaney; a daughter, Linda Hecke; son, Michael Delaney all of Delight; two brothers, Lonny Harpole and Ivan Harpole; and two sisters, Bobbie Potts and Janet Harpole all of Oregon. Carrietta is survived by one son, David Delaney and wife, Darlene of Salem, Oregon; one daughter, Michelle Delaney of Delight; one sister, Betty Lounsburg; two brothers, Ronald Harpole and Gerald Harpole of Oregon; two grandsons, William Kemnow, and Larry Marlow; five great-granddaughters; friend Jenny Norton; and a host of family and friends. Carrietta was a Christian woman, who loved caring for her family and friends. She loved to cook. She enjoyed canning and making homemade biscuits and rolls. Services will be 2:00 PM on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Delight Methodist Church. Burial to follow at Delight Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
