Carolyn Scott, age 92, of Nashville, died at her home, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Daughter of the late Rufus Dee and Blanche Scott, she was born January 28, 1921 in Nashville, AR. She first started teaching school in Bismarck, AR in 1944-1945, before going to Okay, AR where she taught for 11 years. She then started a private kindergarten, â�œLittle Red Schoolhouseâ in 1956, where her enrollment increased over the years. In 1984 she received an award for â�œPast Accomplishmentsâ from the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Texarkana, AR. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, D.B. Scott and Joe Dee Scott; and four sisters, Eloise Dawley, Mary Garrison, Helen Green, and Blanche Scott. Those left to cherish her memory are several nieces and nephews, including Pam Wynn and husband, Billy and Royce Scott and wife, Barbara of Nashville, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews. Thanks go to special caregivers, who have been with Carolyn during the past two and a half years. Their love and care for her has been so valuable. Those caregivers include Doris Whitaker, Ruth Hooks, Fannie Lockeby, Hazel Pinson, and Peggy Hopper. A big part of her life â�œ57 yearsâ was at Little Red Schoolhouse, where she helped influence a large number of children who walked through those doors. Those children were her life. Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M., Friday, May 3, 2013at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Nashville with Bro. David Blase and Bro. Glen Green officiating.
