Burnie Wayne Pennington, Sr., age 66, of Nathan, AR, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at his home. He was born on April 15, 1947 in Emmett, AR, the son of the late Herbert Pennington and Etha Mae (Shaw) Pennington. Mr. Pennington was a millwright with Antoine Hardwoods, former mill supervisor at Clear Creek Ties, and member of the Nathan Church of Christ in Nathan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Pennington; and one sister, Tursie Hipp. Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis of Nathan; four sons, Burnie Pennington, Jr. and wife,Susan of London, AR; Jody Pennington of Little Rock, Tim Turner and wife, Debra of Beach City, TX, and Scott Turner of Nashville; two daughters, Penny Caldwell and husband, Larry of La Port, TX, and Cindy York and Charles Beth of Nashville; two brothers, Joe Pennington and wife, Peggy of Murfreesboro, and Bill Pennington and wife, Gloria of Murfreesboro; one sister, Esther Scoggins of Murfreesboro; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends mourn his passing. Services will be on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Nathan Church of Christ with Brother Tommy Mounts officiating. Burial to follow in Biggs Chapel in Nathan, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
