Betty Frances Rogers, 78, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at a hospital in Texarkana. Mrs. Rogers was born August 23, 1938, in Nashville, Arkansas. Betty was the daughter of the late Edgar and Kathleen Smithson of Nashville. Mrs. Rogers was also preceeded in death by two loving husbands Ronald Oliver and J.T. Rogers. She was a retired postmaster with 26 years of service in McCaskill, Arkansas. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Hampton Road Church of Christ of Texarkana, Texas. Survivors include a daughter, Debra Oliver, of Texarkana, Texas; two step-daughters, Ann Smithson and Sue Feemster, both of Ashdown; two brothers, Carroll Smithson of Nashville, and Gene Smithson of Ashdown; one sister Ruth Cooper of Nashville; a special sister-in-law, Bennie Hobson of Mena; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, and a number of friends and family. Services will be Sunday December 4, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville, Arkansas; with Jerry Monholland officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to service from 1:30 p.m. to service time.
